Richest Soccer Clubs

If you’re interested in the business-side of soccer then this article on the richest soccer clubs should certainly catch your eye. The teams are ranked according to their overall valuation in 2010 – these are the most up-to-date figures published by Forbes in April 2011. From the 20 clubs on this list, the average value is $640 million – up 1.3% on last year. The average operating income is $40 million, or 25% higher than the previous year.

Unsurprisingly Manchester United are #1 on the list with a valuation of $1.86 billion. Real Madrid come in second place with a value of $1.4 billion. My favourite club Arsenal finish in third at $1.19 billion. 6 of the clubs in the top 20 are from the English Premier League, 3 are from Spain, 6 are from Germany, 2 are from France, and 3 are from Italy.

I hope you enjoy this list and find your team ranked suitably high! If you have any thoughts you’d like to add please feel free to leave a comment at the end of the article.

This table of the richest soccer clubs is based on overall club valuation in 2010, based on the most recent Forbes research as of April 2011. There are other systems available for judging the wealth of soccer clubs, however, as the Deloitte Football Money League reports this in terms of revenue.

Have fun,
