Men’s Soccer Olympic Games Winners

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Hi everybody,

It’s a sad time for everyone now because this is my very last post in the series about international cup winners. So it’s fitting that we’ll finish with the oldest tournament of them all and discuss the Men’s Soccer Olympic Games Winners. Soccer was first played at the games in 1900 when Great Britain (my country) won- if only we could do that more often now! The medals have changed hands various times since then, so why not track the changes as you work your way through this list?

´

1900: Great Britain

1904: Canada

1908: Great Britain

1912: Great Britain

1920: Belgium

1924: Uraguay

1928: Uraguay

1936: Italy

1948: Sweeden

1952: Hungary

1956: USSR

1960: Yugoslavia

1964: Hungary

1968: Hungary

1972: Poland

1976: East Germany

1980: Czechoslovakia

1984: France

1988: USSR

1992: Spain

1996: Nigeria

2000: Cameroon

2004: Argentina

2008: Argentina

´

So that’s it- that’s the my series of reference/informational articles about the international cup winners all done and dusted with Men’s Soccer Olympic Games Winners. To use something of a cliche to close with, ‘they think it’s all over, it is now’!

Have fun,

Women’s Soccer Olympic Games Winners

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Hi everybody,

If you’re new to reading this blog then please be aware that this is probably the shortest post I will ever make! It’s a list of the Women’s Soccer Olympic Games Winners and as there have only been four, there is very little to write about you understand. Nevertheless, I aimed to make a series of all the international cup winners in history and I will see that ambition through. Also, however small the information, it might still be useful to you one day! Here’s the list…

1996: USA

2000: Norway

2004: USA

2008: USA

It’s also worth noting that in 2000 when Norway won it the USA still got the silver so on balance, if you’re from the USA, you’re by far on top! Now that’s all for the Women’s Soccer Olympic Games Winners.

UEFA Women’s Championship Winners

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Hi everybody,

Well in quick succession here’s another list of women’s international cup winners, this time the UEFA Women’s Championship Winners. This is all the tournaments there have been since 1991 when these Euro champs were set up so this post will be short and sweet!

´

1991: Germany

1993: Norway

1995: Germany

1997: Germany

2001: Germany

2005: Germany

2009: Germany

´

As you can see, Germany have had something of a monopoly over the women’s game for a number of years and simply outclassed the English team in this year’s final-despite their great skill and best efforts. So that’s all the UEFA Women’s Championship Winners!

2003: Germany

2007: Germany

Hi everybody,

Here’s the next post in my series of international tournament winners- this time I’m dealing witht the AFC Asian Cup Winners since the competition was founded in 1956. 1960: Korea

1964: Israel

1968: Iran

1972: Iran

1976: Iran

1988: Saudi Araabia

Hi everybody,

Here’s a short, quick-fire post on the OFC Nations Cup Winners as part of my informational series on all the international trophy winners in history. Here’s the list and you’ll be surprised how quickly it’s over-  just don’t tell me I make you read too much!
